UNDER A DIFFERENT SUN
Weaving the Ancient Thread|
A GREECE RETREAT
Oct 15-22, 2027
There a two different types of luxury: The first one is: things you can buy with money. Like a big suite and an infinity pool. The second one is rarity. Something is luxurious because it is SO rare! This is the kind of luxury you will experience in this Retreat “Under a different Sun”.
And in saying Rarity I mean:
There's a version of you that has never had a beach that belonged to no one but her.
I found this version of me a few weeks ago, on the south coast of Crete - no umbrellas, no schedule, but: salt, stone, and a sun that somehow felt older than the one at home.
Crete holds one of the oldest human settlements in Europe, dating to 6000 BC. From it rose the Minoans, Europe's first known civilisation, who shaped delicate clay figures, traded olive oil across the Mediterranean, and built a culture where art and ritual mattered as much as survival itself.
From October 15–22, I'm taking a small group to the south of Crete with me. For a thread. One that starts with an ancient story about a woman carried across the sea (called Europa), runs through olive groves and starlit water, and ends wherever it is in your life that's quietly asking you to let go of one thing and reach for another.
We arrive with a FULL MOON. - Oct 15
Seven nights. One old story. A different way of counting time.
Oct 15-22, 2027 → Crete, Greece

I weave Stories, People & Places
No wonder I host retreats - I’m a Sagittarius Rising & a Virgo Sun. Travelling is my First Nature.
I host retreats since 20 years - in all kind of places around the world. I taught and organised retreats in Sri Lanka, Peru, Portugal, Thailand - to just name a few.
There are different things that fascinate me in my work:
finding the best places. I have a huge fascination for beauty in all things. architecture, nature, interior design
nourishment - when it comes to food my choice is: natural and simple, whole but VERY tasty
bringing people together - I weave people, places & stories
What most retreats nowerdays lack - is a real good practice. Yoga and energetics in a pure way, Easy and difficult at the same time. Yoga was my first job, my first love. I can’t stop loving it and I always walk next to my practice. Expect BEST PRACTICE Katonah Yoga, mixed with Energetix (Kundalini). You will be seen and heard. The practice is also a thread - it’s a conversation.
As an WRITER I am intrigued by ancient history like the ones from Zeus & the Olymp, Europa and Ariadne (weaving the thread in Knossos Palace - in Crete!). I'm currently working on an interpretation of Roland Schimmelpfennig's Anthropolis — a play that re-imagines the old Greek myths in an unexpected modern way. This trip is also a full immersion into the land where these stories were born.
What to Expect
THE RETREAT CENTER IN CRETE
Rinido is located above the quiet, subtropical valley of Tertsa, facing the Lybian Sea, on the southern side of the island of Crete, Greece.
It is a place created with mindfulness and attention to detail.
A place of wild plants, sun and peace.
Rinido, which is the ancient name of the particular part of the mountain range, is set high above the valley, with beautiful views of the sea, surrounded by banana trees and adventurous cliffs - the perfect place to find peace of mind.
Tertsa village is a hidden treasure for those seeking a true retreat from the fast-paced modern world. Tertsa’s lush valley and beachfront location offer the best of Crete: a life in harmony with nature, generous
hospitality, a slow-paced lifestyle and the luminous Sea.
The surrounding mountains protect the small valley from the
north wind, making Tertsa, with around 320 sunny days per year, one of the warmest places in Europe.
The center is only a 10-15 minute walk from the village and the beach.
Retreat Co-Founder Roxana has her own jewelry & clothing boutique in the Retreat Center. I mean - how cool is that?

There are two different metaphors and perceptions of time in ancient Greek Myths:
Chronos is (as the name might already tell you) CHRONOLOGICAL TIME. The time you already know intimately; sequential, ticking, quantifiable. It's actually where we get the words chronology and chronic from. Chronos doesn't care what's happening; it just counts. 9 am is 9 am, whether you're falling in love or filing taxes or eating breakfast. It's the quiet tyranny most of us live inside without often naming it: the belief that a full life is a well-scheduled one.
Kairos is something else entirely. The Greeks even gave him a face - the youngest son of Zeus, a beautiful youth with a single lock of hair falling over his forehead, winged at the heels, balanced on the edge of a blade. Kairos is the opportune moment. Not how much time has passed, but whether the moment is ripe. You can only catch him by that one lock of hair, and only while he's still approaching. The back of his head is bald, on purpose: once he's passed you by, there's nothing left to grab.
This retreat runs on Kairos, not Chronos.
There's a loose shape to the week - but nothing here is measured in productivity. You arrive under a full moon, the Hunter's Moon, and you leave as it wanes toward dark.
In between: the moment the bay is empty enough to be entirely yours.
The moment the oil is poured and the sea goes still enough to mirror the sky.
The moment, around the fire, when you finally say out loud what you're ready to let go of.
None of it can be scheduled to the minute. It simply has to be met, when it arrives.
That's the thread I ask you to weave - a handful of moments you actually catch.
